About Game

Classic Chess is a board game for two players played on a 64-square board arranged in an 8x8 grid.

Each player starts with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, and eight pawns.

The goal is to checkmate the opponent’s king by placing it under unavoidable threat of capture.

You can play against an artificial intelligence opponent or challenge a real player.

How to Play

Each player controls sixteen pieces of six types: king, queen, rook, bishop, knight, and pawn.

The King moves one square in any direction but cannot move into check.

The Queen moves any number of squares along a rank, file, or diagonal.

The Rook moves any number of squares horizontally or vertically.

The Bishop moves any number of squares diagonally.

The Knight moves in an 'L' shape — two squares in one direction and then one square perpendicular.

The Pawn moves forward one square, or two squares from its starting position, and captures diagonally.

The objective is to checkmate your opponent’s king, putting it in a position where it cannot escape capture.
