The goal in Checkers is to capture all opponent pieces or block them so they cannot make any legal move.
The game is played on an 8x8 board using only the dark squares. Each player starts with pieces placed on three rows closest to them on the dark squares.
On your turn, a regular piece moves one square diagonally forward to an empty dark square. Captures are made by jumping diagonally over an adjacent opponent piece to an empty square immediately beyond it.
If a capture is possible, you must perform it. If multiple jumps are available in sequence, you must continue capturing in the same move as long as legal jumps exist.
When one of your pieces reaches the last row on the opponent’s side, it becomes a king. Kings can move and capture diagonally both forward and backward, still using only dark squares and following jump rules.
You can choose a character set for your pieces before starting a game. Then select a mode: play against the computer, play online against another player, or play locally together on one device taking turns.
